But the hard edges matter more than the party trick. Gopher cannot create or draw automation lanes, which rules out volume swells, filter sweeps, and any parameter that changes over time. It cannot insert notes or chords into a melodic track, so you cannot ask it to write a bassline or a chord progression. And it cannot select specific presets inside plug-ins. Ask for a Rhodes electric piano sound, and Gopher will load Flex, Image Line's do-it-all sampler, but you have to locate the Rhodes patch yourself. That last limitation cuts deeper than it sounds. The whole point of an AI assistant in a DAW is to reduce friction, and forcing the user to hunt for a preset after the AI set up the channel is a fracture in the workflow.
