Welcome to BAD/GATEWAY*. These terms govern your use of our website and everything on it. By visiting the site or posting a comment, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the site. You need to be 16 or older to post comments or otherwise interact with the site.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date above, and your continued use of the site means you accept the current version.

USING THE WEBSITE

You're welcome to read, link to, and share our work. In return, we ask that you don't misuse the site. Specifically, you agree not to:

  2. Post anything unlawful, abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise designed to harm or intimidate another person;

  3. Post anyone's private information, including identifying someone who comments anonymously;

  4. Upload viruses, malware, or anything else meant to damage or disrupt the site or the people using it;

  5. Scrape, harvest, copy, or mine the site's content or data using bots, crawlers, or any automated means, except for legitimate search-engine indexing;

  6. Try to break, overload, or interfere with the site, its servers, or its security;

  7. Impersonate anyone, or pretend to be connected to a person or organisation you're not.

We can remove anything that breaks these rules, and we can block access to anyone who does, at our discretion.

THE COMMENTS SECTION

Our comments are anonymous and don't require an account. They're public, so anything you post can be seen by anyone. You're responsible for what you write, and you confirm that you have the right to post it and that it doesn't break these terms or anyone else's rights.

You keep ownership of your comments. By posting one, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, store, reproduce, and distribute it on and in connection with the site, for as long as we keep the site running. This just lets us show your comment where you posted it and keep the site working. It doesn't transfer ownership to us.

We don't review every comment before it appears, and we're not responsible for what other people post. We can remove or edit any comment, or close comments on any piece, at our discretion, and we explain how we moderate in our community guidelines. We're under no obligation to store or back up comments, and we're not liable if one is lost.

OUR CONTENT

Everything we publish, including our writing, photography, graphics, logos, and the BAD/GATEWAY* name and design, belongs to us or to the people who licensed it to us, and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may read it, link to it, and share it through normal means. You may not republish, sell, redistribute, or build a competing product out of it without our written permission. Quoting a short extract with a link and credit is fine. Lifting whole articles is not.

If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, email editor@0x502.com with enough detail to identify the work, where it appears on our site, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised. We'll look into it and remove material where appropriate.

ADVERTISING AND AFFILIATE LINKS

We run ads to fund our work. We don't control the content of third-party ads, and an ad appearing next to a story is not an endorsement by us. Some stories contain affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something through them, at no extra cost to you. We mark these clearly, and as set out in our ethics statement, they never influence what we recommend.

LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

We sometimes link to other websites for your convenience. We don't control them, we don't endorse them, and we're not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Once you leave our site, you're subject to the terms and policies of wherever you land, so use your judgement.

ACCURACY AND "AS IS"

We work hard to get things right, and our corrections policy is set out in our ethics statement. That said, the site and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available."
